About Mary

Mary OvenstoneMary Ovenstone trained in psychotherapy in Canada and the U.S.A. alongside an executive career in corporate communications and television production in Toronto. She returned to South Africa in 1999 and runs a counselling and coaching practice for couples and individuals online and in Hermanus, South Africa. Ovenstone has a diploma in Practitioner Coaching from The Coaching Centre, and an MPhil in Management Coaching from University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB). She coaches business and government leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs in leadership and career development, in strategy, decision-making, and communications, as well as in work and life balance. She has 4 additional accreditations in the use of the Enneagram in assessing and developing self-awareness in clients. After further research, her work is increasingly trauma-informed. In 2017 Mary drew together 20 outstanding coaches and trainers and formed Brain Exchange Solutions PTY Ltd in response to the needs of her government clients for large-scale coaching and training interventions, online and in-person. Not only does she run the company, but she also does executive coaching, team coaching, and presents leadership development workshops. Her offerings are often focused on collaborative decision-making, understanding oneself, and relationships in the workplace. Mary speaks regularly to public, corporate and government audiences. While Mary works as often with men, she is currently writing a book on female leadership, based on the research from her Master’s thesis and years of coaching to develop women leaders.
